Ship Design Services.

The Ship Work Breakdown Structure Scope.

The Ship Design services covered by ROMV & Associates are a complete process methodology to fulfill owner´s requeriments in all design stages, conceptual, preliminary, detailed, product engineering oriented and trials agenda. The first stage just to make deep knowledge about the right product required by the owners evaluating missions inside design spaces, cost & effectiveness estimation through sinthesis models with initial target performance, and improved results compared with others products. The second stage covers the whole information to be submitted for aprovals and building permissions by the current authority. The detailed design stage covers the whole package for cost estimating and production control activities. Finally, the product engineering information and trial agenda covers the construction itself and the validating of the project regarding the performace & cost.

All the stages are continuosly linked to fulfill the following technical specifications:

Design Code Objectives Benefits

ROMVSDCI_FS_0020
Feasibility Study for Boats length less than 20m
ROMV® ROMVSDCI_FS_0020

  1. Clarify the shipowner’s requirements, that is, the ship’s mission and principal required performance attributes, which reflect the desired balance between capability and affordability.

Done to reduce risk, improve the cost estimate, refine and validate the most important derived ship performance requirements, and establish a baseline for the start of preliminary design and its major trade-off studies.

Design Code Objectives Benefits

ROMVSDCI_CPTDESIGN
Concept Design Service
ROMV® CONCEPT DESIGN

  1. Develop a concept design, which satisfies the requirements, as well as a cost estimate and a risk assessment

Perform parametric studies that sketch out the design alternatives of interest in sufficient detail that the cost (capital and operating), performance, and risks (cost, technical and schedule) of each can be assessed and compared.

ROMVSDCI_PRYDESIGN
Preliminary Design Service
ROMV® CONCEPT DESIGN

  1. Provide a greater level of detail, especially identifying and defining those features, which have a significant effect on other characteristics of the ship, including cost

Establish cost and performance based on feasibility study or concept design input information satisfying performance requirements developed and available at this time, and forms the starting point design effort for the new ship.

Design Code Objectives Benefits

ROMVSDCI_PNGDESIGN
Workstation/Zone Information Preparation
ROMV® ROMVSDCI_FS_20200

  1. Transition of all design information from systems to block and zone orientation as complete block and zone design arrangements, and the ordering and assigning of all materials prior to deliver for workshop production.

Breakdown each ship zone into sub-zones information for each block, each with an accompanying bill of material inside all drawings, data and other information required by the production and other service departments to construct the ship.
